Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the AI Weight Scale Estimator app (the "Application") for Android mobile devices, developed by Kitchen digital scale, scales weight assistant (the "Service Provider") as an ad-supported service. This service is provided "AS IS".

This policy is effective as of 01.09.2026.

1. Information Collection and Use

The Application does not require user registration, account creation, or login. The Application and integrated third-party services may automatically collect or process certain information when you use it.

• Photographs: when you choose to analyze an object, the selected or captured photograph is transmitted through the Application's backend to external artificial-intelligence providers in order to identify the object and estimate its weight. Camera preview and basic image-quality checks may be performed locally before submission. The Service Provider does not intentionally retain submitted photographs after processing and does not use them to train its own AI models.
• Device or other identifiers: an app-local installation identifier, device or app identifiers, and advertising identifiers where available and permitted by device settings, consent, and applicable law.
• Approximate location: country or region may be inferred from the IP address or service-provider signals. The Application does not request precise GPS location for this purpose.
• Device and app information: device model, manufacturer, operating system version, app version, language, locale, and similar technical information.
• App interactions and activity: scan events, results, history interactions, feedback, advertising events, screen views, and similar in-app actions.
• Crash logs and diagnostics: crash reports, performance information, errors, and other diagnostic data.
• Ad-related data: ad impressions, interactions, advertising network information, revenue signals, consent status, and fraud-prevention information.
• Backend request metadata: IP address, country or region code, request identifiers, timestamps, app settings, model route, response status, and other technical information required to provide and protect the service.

The Application may also allow you to voluntarily submit information such as feedback, feature votes, notes, or the actual measured weight of an object. Such information may be used to evaluate and improve the Application and the quality of its estimates.

2. How Information Is Used

Information collected or processed may be used for the following purposes:

• App functionality: processing photographs, identifying objects, generating AI-based weight estimates, maintaining local history, and providing related features.
• Analytics and improvement: understanding how the Application is used, evaluating estimate quality, improving features, and monitoring stability and performance.
• Advertising: displaying and measuring advertising that supports the free operation of the Application. Advertising may be contextual or personalized depending on region, consent status, device settings, and applicable law.
• Security and fraud prevention: preventing abuse, duplicate requests, invalid traffic, attacks, and misuse of the Application.

Data transmitted to the Application's backend is generally associated with pseudonymous technical identifiers rather than directly with your name or email address. Communications with the backend use HTTPS.

3. Third-Party Services

The Application uses third-party services that may process information according to their own terms and privacy practices, including:

• Google Play Services
• Cloudflare – backend hosting, networking, and security infrastructure
• Yandex AppMetrica – analytics, diagnostics, and crash reporting
• CAS.AI / Clever Ads Solutions and advertising partners – advertising and mediation
• Google Mobile Ads / AdMob and related advertising services where included in the release configuration
• AI and model providers, which may include NanoGPT, OpenRouter, Google Gemini, and underlying or selected model providers used to process a submitted photograph and generate an estimate

The exact set of advertising and AI providers may vary depending on region, consent status, application configuration, provider availability, and other operational factors.

4. Data Sharing

The Service Provider does not sell personal data for money. Information may be disclosed:

• to third-party services used to operate, analyze, secure, advertise, and provide AI functionality for the Application;
• when required by applicable law or valid legal process;
• when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of the Application, users, the Service Provider, or third parties; or
• to service providers acting on behalf of the Service Provider.

5. Opt-Out and User Controls

• Advertising and consent: where required, advertising or related identifiers are processed according to the consent or privacy choices available in the Application or on your device.
• Advertising ID: you may reset, restrict, or disable advertising personalization through your Android or Google privacy settings where supported.
• Local history: scan-history entries may be deleted using available in-app controls.
• Uninstall: uninstalling the Application stops future collection from that installation and removes locally stored Application data. Information already transmitted to backend or third-party services may remain for a limited period according to applicable retention practices.

6. Data Retention

Submitted photographs are processed to provide the requested AI analysis and are not intentionally retained by the Service Provider after processing.

Locally stored scan history, thumbnails, settings, and similar data remain on your device until deleted, application data is cleared, or the Application is uninstalled.

Technical backend logs and telemetry may generally be retained for a limited period, typically up to 30 days. Short-term quota, duplicate-request, security, and fraud-prevention records may be retained for shorter or longer periods as reasonably necessary for their purpose.

Feedback, voluntary actual-weight reports, and similar information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and improve the Application or until deletion is requested where applicable.

Third-party analytics, advertising, infrastructure, and AI providers may retain information according to their own applicable settings and privacy practices.

7. Children

The Application is not directed at children under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users should not submit photographs of children or other personal or sensitive information. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through the Application, please contact the Service Provider at tina.dev.scales@gmail.com.

8. Security

Data transmitted between the Application and backend services is protected in transit using HTTPS/TLS. The Service Provider takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the Application and its services. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider may update this page and the effective date when changes are made. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

10. Your Consent

By using the Application, you acknowledge the processing of information described in this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires consent for particular processing, including certain advertising or identifier use, the Application may request that consent separately.
